The Indianapolis Colts still have a head coaching vacancy to fill following the highly controversial about-face of New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Dan Campbell and Frank Reich have already been lined up for interviews.
And now, Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier’s name has been added to their new list of prospective head coaching candidates.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

Frazier spent his first year as Bills defensive coordinator last season. Prior to getting the job in Buffalo, he spent three seasons as Minnesota Vikings head coach (2011-2013) after taking over on an interim basis in 2010 following the firing of Brad Childress.
In between his stops in Buffalo and Minnesota, Frazier also spent two seasons as Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator and one season as Baltimore Ravens secondary coach.
Frazier, who specializes on the defensive side of the ball, is clearly a significant departure from the direction the Colts were initially planning to go with the offensive-minded coach in McDaniels. But as Rapoport notes, Colts owner Jim Irsay is apparently a big fan of Frazier’s, which is why they are bringing him in to interview.
After getting spurned by McDaniels, the Colts are likely in search of a candidate who is really committed to the job. Whether it’s Frazier or anyone else, they are probably looking for that quality more than anything else with the man they intend to hire as their next head coach.
