The Dallas Cowboys are quickly falling behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. Following a loss to the Atlanta Falcons last weekend, in which Dallas' offensive line was eaten alive, things aren't exactly looking up. Maybe it is why Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is already declaring Sunday as a must-win day.

“If we want to make a run at winning this division, giving ourselves a chance to play late into the season, it’s a game that we have to win,” Prescott said on Sirius XM NFL Radio.

To be bluntly honest about the team's chances at catching the Eagles, there's nearly a zero percent chance of that happening. Philadelphia has a full three game lead on Dallas heading into Sunday, though, a head-to-head win would go a long way in helping the Cowboy play catch up.

At 5-4 so far this season, Dallas should just be concerned with making the playoffs at this point. That should be the first step. With a few other teams already locked in with the same record, with even more far ahead of them in the win-loss category, Dak Prescott and company need to make sure they all play meaningful games two months from now.

For the sake of conjecture, if Dallas does topple an outstanding Philly team on Sunday, we can revisit this conversation on Monday. It could, at least in theory, be a key turning point in both teams' seasons.

Alas, I guess this makes Prescott correct in this being a must-win for America's Team.
