Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones has high expectations for the 2018 NFL season. As a result, he has indicated that it will be a bit of a deciding year for quarterback Dak Prescott.

It goes without saying that Prescott is coming off a tumultuous sophomore slump. However, Jones says he feels good about the progression of his young quarterback, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

“Jones said he wakes up every day feeling better and better about Prescott.”

It is encouraging to see Jones still has plenty of faith that Prescott can get the job done. The former fourth-round pick burst onto the scene during a stellar rookie campaign after leading Dallas to a No. 1 seed in the playoffs. The feeling didn't last too long. It was followed up by a disappointing 2017 campaign that saw the Cowboys miss the postseason.

As a result, the team has undergone some major changes since then. Prescott will no longer have his top two receiving options in the mix with wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten no longer on the team. Jones has still been rather optimistic about the current state of Prescott's receiving corps.

Furthermore, the Cowboys will also have their workhorse back in running back Ezekiel Elliott. It can be said that all of their problems last year began when Elliott was forced to serve a four-game suspension. The pair is hoping to get back to where they were at during their stellar rookie seasons when all was good in “Jerry-World.”
