Yesterday's CowboysRedskins game made history, at least for the television network airing the action.

The build-up for the Thanksgiving bout was second to none, with the surging Cowboys facing their biggest rival in the Redskins, who are also right in the playoff hunt.

The game lived up to the hype. Both teams moved up and down the field, with Dallas converting more red zone entries into touchdowns than Washington. In the end, the Cowboys were able to edge the Skins by a final score of 31-26.

Yesterday's Redskins-Cowboys showdown averaged 35.1 million viewers, now the most-watched regular-season NFL game in FOX Sports history!

About one-in-ten Americans tuned into the action, which is just incredible to think about. Still, given FOX's long track record with the NFL, it's surprising that no other regular season game has topped that figure in the past.

This is tremendous news for the league, which has been concerned with dropping ratings this season. It hopes those dipped numbers are behind them now, but in reality, the higher-profile games have all performed well this year. Competitive games in primetime slots helps, too.

The star-power of Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott on one of the NFL's premier franchises has made their games must-watch for fans of all teams. Even if you don't like the Cowboys, there's no denying how impressive they've been.
