The Seattle Seahawks have continued to sit on shaky ground with star safety Earl Thomas that has brought trade chatter back into the picture.
According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys are hoping to restart the trade conversation for Thomas with the Seahawks at some point in the near future.
Article Continues BelowWhile the two sides have not spoken since before Thomas reported to the Seahawks to begin the season, there are several people inside the Cowboys organization who hope Sunday's game will serve as the impetus to begin conversations again.
It has become increasingly clear that there is some disconnect between Thomas and the team that could continue to linger as the season wears on. This has also led to the growing belief that the Seahawks are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old this season prior to the trade deadline with the Kansas City Chiefs emerging as a possible landing spot for the All-Pro safety with their need to address their secondary that has had much difficulty through the first two games of the year.
Thomas is still playing at a high level as one of the top safeties in the league that has shown he can anchor that unit of the defense as an effective factor against both the run and pass. The Cowboys have long been rumored to be the top choice for the Pro Bowler that has seen mutual interest on both sides.
There had been chatter prior and during this year's draft, but the Seahawks had increased their trade demand for Thomas that quieted the conversation. However, this recent uptick in the team's willingness to move him could see something coming to fruition in the near future in order to resolve the lingering situation. Dallas' interest to re-engage into trade talks may lead to dealing being hammered out.
