The 2022 NFL offseason has been hitting the news cycle harder than Mike Tyson's uppercut. With the free agency window opening soon, teams across the league are beginning to make roster decisions for next season. The Dallas Cowboys are already rumored to release Amari Cooper, but he's not the only player potentially leaving. As it turns out, starting offensive tackle La'el Collins could be leaving the franchise as well.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys “are having active trade conversations centered around starting OT La'el Collins.” If true, Dallas is making a bold decision as Collins has been one of the most consistent tackles in the league. However, this front office seems to be making moves to generate more cap space.

It was expected for the Cowboys to make changes to the offensive line considering they didn't live up to standards. It wasn't that long ago that Dallas was deemed in having the best offensive line in the NFL. Those days are officially behind us as the front office aims to add talented youth to protect Dak Prescott more efficiently.

There should be plenty of teams interested in trading for the veteran offensive tackle. The Cincinnati Bengals should be making calls right now, as they desperately need to address the offensive line. Other potential suitors include the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks. Either way, the Cowboys should be able to find a trade partner sooner, rather than later and potentially receive decent draft compensation.

Keep an eye on La'el Collins and the Cowboys, as a possible trade could go down at any moment. Any deal reached doesn't become official until March 16th, but a trade could come to fruition relatively soon. That's especially true if Dallas wants to avoid paying Collins $10 million.
