Urban Meyer is no longer coaching the Ohio State Buckeyes, nor has he ever coached in the NFL. However, if a particular opportunity were to arise within the Dallas Cowboys organization, the three-time National Championship winning coach would be interested.

Appearing on Colin Cowherd's radio show on Friday, Meyer discussed another name leaving the college ranks to go to Dallas: 36-year-old Oklahoma coaching phenom, Lincoln Riley. When asked if he would leave his cushy throne in Norman, Oklahoma, Meyer said, via Jon Mochota of The Athletic:

“Pure speculation because I know him, but I don’t know him like that, but that’s the one (job). That’s New York Yankees, that’s the Dallas Cowboys. That’s the one. Great city. They got Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliott. You got a loaded team. And I can’t speak for him obviously, I hate to even speculate because I don’t know him, that’s really not fair, but to me, that’s the one job in professional football that you say, ‘I got to go do that.’”

Meyer sounds interested while talking about if Riley should be. Though he says the Cowboys have never contacted him, he admits that if Dallas were to offer him the job, he would give it serious consideration.

“Sure,” he said. “Absolutely. Absolutely. That one? Yes.”

Of course, the Cowboys head coaching job isn't a vacant position. Currently, Jason Garrett holds down the fort in Dallas. However, with his contract up after the 2019 season and the Cowboys on a three-game skid, that position may be open down the line.
