The fans of the Denver Broncos have been awaiting the debut of Drew Lock and they'll have to continue waiting for at least another week. With the Broncos getting ready for their upcoming game, Lock is ‘unlikely' to be activated for Week 12.
Last week, Lock was able to join the team in practice for the first time since the preseason. The rookie quarterback suffered a sprained thumb in the preseason and was placed on injured reserve in September.
With him returning to practice last week, the Broncos have a three-week window to decide whether or not they activate him to the roster. As of right now, his chances of joining the roster in Week 12 aren't looking good.
Denver drafted Lock with the 42nd overall pick out of Missouri. The initial plan was for Lock to develop behind Joe Flacco and there was a possibility that he was going to sit on the bench for the entire season.

But now, Flacco is on injured reserve due to a neck injury and Brandon Allen has become the team's starting quarterback. While Allen has shown flashes of some potential, he isn't the long-term answer at the position.
The Broncos have fallen to 3-7 on the season after losing their fourth game of the year where they've held a lead going into the fourth quarter. Given that, Denver is anxious to get a decent look at their rookie quarterback before the season concludes.
But until Lock makes enough progress in practice, he won't be able to make his first career start in the NFL.
The Broncos will have until next week to make the decision on Lock's status for the rest of the season.
