The Denver Broncos managed to shake things up under center this offseason with the acquisition of Joe Flacco. It seems he is confident about his grasp of the offense with the start of the 2019 NFL season just over a week away.

It has been quite the transition for Flacco after spending his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens. According to Troy Renck of Denver7, he feels it has been rather smooth thanks to his familiarity with the scheme.

Broncos Joe Flacco said transition to Denver has been smooth. Said offense similar to 2014 scheme. Knows the expectations “I have a blast learning offense and I have had a blast running offense.”

It is encouraging to see that the changes were not too drastic for Flacco. Despite all the changes, there are high hopes that he can help lead a potential resurgence on offense.

Fans should be glad to hear Flacco compare the scheme to that of Baltimore's in 2014. He finished that year throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and a career-high 27 touchdowns. It was also the last time he managed to make it to the playoffs with the Ravens as the starting quarterback.

The Broncos will undoubtedly be hoping for similar production going into the 2019 campaign. It is no secret that Flacco's numbers have dipped tremendously in recent years. Fortunately, there is good reason for Denver to be optimistic now that they boast a strong run game led by Phillip Lindsay and a talented receiver duo in Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton.

The onus will be on Flacco and the new coaching staff to put it all together in order to compete in the juggernaut AFC West.
