Everyone has pointed the blame at Vance Joesph for the struggles of the Denver Broncos the last few years, but now that he is gone, more of the pressure is being placed on General Manager John Elway to get the job done.

Elway took over in 2011 and will be hiring his fourth different head coach to lead the Broncos, and although their was a lot of success during the Peyton Manning era, he has had trouble finding a quarterback and it has been a big part of the Broncos downfall.

“It's part of the job,” Elway said via NFL.com. “I get that. That's my job. If we don't win, I'm as much a target as anybody else. I don't have any expectations that I should be held to any other standard than anybody else in this position and has my role.

Elway is also a Broncos great and that has made some fans give him a pass, but he knows that what he did on the field for the Broncos can't give him a pass for the way the team performs under him now.

“My path, my history here in Denver does not have anything to do with what's going to happen going forward. I get that. We won five and six games the last two years and it's my job to get that fixed.”

This next coaching hire is going to be crucial for Elway and if he misses it might be time for the team to find a different general manager.
