Like every other NFL franchise, the Denver Broncos made a slew of moves to get the team's final 53-man roster and practice squad squared away. With the Broncos most notably claiming four players off waivers on Sunday, Denver managed to land a journeyman quarterback to serve as the team's backup behind a recently acquired veteran, former Baltimore Ravens signal caller Joe Flacco.

The Broncos acquired Allen from the Los Angeles Rams, who previously waived him in order to properly adjust their own roster.

In addition to Brandon Allen, Denver also claimed wide receiver Diontae Spencer from the Pittsburgh Steelers, interior offensive lineman Corey Levin from the Tennessee Titans, and tight end Andrew Beck from the New England Patriots. As a result, the team's roster stood at 52 players, which then led Denver to waive wide receiver River Cracraft, linebacker Josh Watson and offensive lineman Jake Rodgers in corresponding roster moves.

Brandon Allen originally broke into the NFL as a 2016 sixth round pick out of Arkansas. He completed 44 of his 69 passing attempts, producing 431 yards and a 63.1 completion percentage in the 2019 preseason. However, the former Rams quarterback has yet to appear in a regulation NFL game since reaching the highest level back in 2016.

While the Broncos will be going with the aforementioned Flacco in Week 1, Denver also has injured signal caller Drew Lock in the mix. The AFC West franchise selected the rookie signal caller out of Missouri in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
