Denver Broncos Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller has been ruled out in his team's Week 13 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Broncos head coach Vic Fangio earlier this week called the veteran defensive presence Miller “50-50” and he was labeled as questionable heading into the weekend.

“He’s gotten better every day,” Fangio said of Miller. “He didn’t practice the first two days, but he was doing some stuff and today he made progress. It’s truly 50-50 whether he’ll be able to go or not.”

Miller, 30, is dealing with a knee injury suffered last week against the Buffalo Bills. The All-Pro pass-rusher had not missed a regular season game for Denver since the 2013 NFL season. That year Miller was suspended for a chunk of games along with tearing his ACL in the third-to-last week in the season; so since then Miller has been the Broncos' iron man on defense, a leader on the field for the Super Bowl 50 champions.

Alongside Miller's absence from Sunday's bout with the Chargers, Fangio is starting rookie quarterback Drew Lock under center. The first-year signal-caller out of Missouri was selected by Denver in the second round of the 2019 draft and was activated from the injured reserve (IR) list to start today. Lock's debut becomes one half of the story out of Denver with Miller going down for the first time in six years.

Between Miller's injury and Lock starting, it could be a whole new era for the Broncos with the 2019 season waning and 2020 portending to be one of great change to the franchise.
