The Detroit Lions had two early picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. They got the second overall pick because of the team's poor 2021-2022 season. And, they picked up the 12th overall pick in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.
Detroit first selected Aidan Hutchinson, the defensive end out of Michigan. Then, with their second first-round pick, the Lions secured wide receiver Jameson Williams.
The Alabama receiver was one of the biggest names heading into the draft, making this a huge selection for the struggling Detroit team.
TMZ was at the 2022 NFL Draft Thursday night. They shared a clip of one of their reporters catching up with Williams shortly after his name was called. According to his brief interview, the young receiver is very confident in himself and his new teammates.
“Everyone's saying the Lions won the draft taking you and Aidan Hutchinson,” the reporter said.

As for his productivity with Lions quarterback Jared Goff, Williams seemed confident in that, too.
This draft class could be a huge turning point for the Lions, a team that only won three games last season. Hutchinson will be a huge contributor to Detroit's defense, while Williams is destined to be an NFL offensive star.
Detroit still has a lot of opportunities in the 2022 NFL Draft. This includes the 46th overall pick in the second round and the 97th overall pick in the third round.
