The Philadelphia Eagles took the NFL by surprise after capping off their unlikely 2017 season with a win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. Needless to say, they will no longer sneaking up on any team in the future, and head coach Doug Pederson does not plan to.

In fact, he is quite confident about the Eagles' legitimacy as world champs. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Pederson has set the bar high for his team moving forward:

“I told them, ‘Get used to this. This is the new norm in Philadelphia. Playing and hopefully playing into February every year. It’s the new norm so get used to it.” Pederson said.

Pederson added that the Eagles are not going to settle for only giving Philadelphia its first Vince Lombardi Trophy, per John Clark of NBC Sports

“My goal is to win another one. To keep doing it and keep doing it”

The Eagles now have a target on their back as the defending champions of the National Football League. Similar to the Patriots over their long run, Philly will regularly get every opponent's best performance from here on out.

Fortunately, Philadelphia is well-prepared for any team gunning for them. Their healthy mix of young talent and savvy veterans helped them win a Super Bowl without their All-Pro left tackle and MVP-caliber quarterback.

The return of star quarterback Carson Wentz is sure to help keep their momentum going. However, the Patriots have clearly proved that with great talent, comes great responsibility.
