The New York Giants are undeniably a big mess this season. The Giants have changed coaches, seen some of their key players get injured and/or suspended, and have benched their two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback for Geno Smith.
Despite all of that, it seems they’re not yet done manufacturing controversies that do nothing but hurt their team even more.
Just last Tuesday, Giants cornerback Landon Collins put on blast his teammate Eli Apple, calling the cornerback a “cancer.”
Well, Collins is now singing a different tune, sending out an apologetic tweet that also voiced his support for Apple.
Article Continues BelowI met with Coach Spags and Eli this morning and I apologized for the things I said yesterday. I never stop supporting my brother/teammate Eli and the rest of my teammates as we move forward. Just want him to know I'm always here for him 💯@EliApple13

In a letdown season for the Giants filled with disappointments, Eli Apple appears to be the microcosm of what’s wrong with the team. The former Ohio State Buckeye has been frustrating the Giants not only with his inconsistent play, but with his off-the-field attitude that negatively affects the locker room.
Collins just seemed to have had enough of Collins’ antics, but also realized, albeit late, that making such incendiary comments makes the situation even more combustible for New York.
Despite getting an apology from Collins, Apple has been suspended by the Giants for Week 17’s game against the Washington Redskins at home for showing conduct detrimental to the team.
