People are starting to wonder if the New York Giants will move on from quarterback Eli Manning. Backup gunslinger Davis Webb, who would be Manning's replacement if New York made a move this season, is trying like heck to calm some rumors down.
As a few folk began to call for the benching of Eli Manning, Davis Webb has come out to express his current role with the franchise. With his words, he did a great job of preventing the fire from spreading.

The best quarterback ever for this franchise,” Webb said, via NJ.com. “There have only been six other guys to throw for 50,000 yards. He’s been a heck of a teammate. He’s been helping me a bunch. I’ve learned so much from him.”
Listen, that is a tremendous way of making sure the starting quarterback gets support. Not only by Davis Webb personally supporting him, but by passively sending a message to fans that there's a reason why Eli Manning has been so special.
Oddly enough, this is all happening while reports have surfaced that Giants ownership is actively looking for Manning's replacement in the collegiate ranks. While no one yet knows if New York will draft for the future when the season is over, it is becoming clearer each day that Manning's time with the Giants is quickly coming to a close.
At the very least, Manning has the support of his backup.
