The Green Bay Packers were upset in the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers, losing 13-10 at Lambeau Field. The loss brought on many questions for the future regarding key players on the roster.
Aaron Rodgers is the most notable player, as he hasn't ruled out retirement, a trade, or coming back to Green Bay. However, he is expected to make his decision before free agency, in fairness to the impending free agents, especially star wide receiver Davante Adams.
Rodgers and Adams both had phenomenal campaigns with elite numbers. Rodgers is primed to win his second consecutive and fourth overall MVP. He threw for 4,115 yards along with 37 touchdowns and four interceptions. Adams was his top target, catching 123 passes for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns.
They are the best QB-WR duo in the NFL, and getting them back needs to be their top priority. Green Bay will also need to find a way to upgrade the roster. While it will be difficult financially because of their cap situation, the Packers have other options to pursue upgrades on the roster.
With that said, here is the biggest need the Packers must address in the 2022 NFL offseason.

Biggest need Packers must address in 2022 NFL offseason
The biggest weakness for the Packers was their special teams unit. They fired special teams coordinator Maurice Drayton, which is a good start. The new coordinator they bring in will need to fix the unit to help them get over the hump. Still, Green Bay's biggest focus this offseason, outside of the obvious Aaron Rodgers situation, must be on the wide receiver position.
Although Adams is the top receiver in the league, the Packers lack another elite weapon. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb are all solid receivers but are not solidified stars. Even though the Packers had a great offense this season, it came up short in the playoffs.
Outside of Adams and running back Aaron Jones, Lazard and Marcedes Lewis only had one reception each against San Francisco. Adams had nine receptions for 90 yards, while Jones had nine receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown.
The Packers need to find a reliable No. 2 receiver next to the star-studded Adams, who is expected to have the franchise tag slapped on him.
Green Bay is set to have the 28th pick in the draft but could trade up to select a top receiver in the draft. This draft is full of talented wideouts, including Treylon Burks, Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and more.
Drafting a wide receiver will help the offense reach its maximum potential. They already have an elite backfield with Jones and AJ Dillon. This season, Jones rushed for 799 yards and four touchdowns while getting 391 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Dillon rushed for 803 yards and five touchdowns while contributing 313 yards and two touchdowns in the receiving game. This running back duo is one of the best in the league, and adding another receiver to the offense would make the whole team more dangerous.
This is a big offseason ahead for Green Bay and the future of the franchise. Getting Rodgers back will be big as it would keep them as a Super Bowl contender, but upgrades need to be made to the roster.
When Rodgers won his lone Super Bowl over a decade ago, he had multiple elite weapons at his disposal. For the last few years, he has only had Adams, who is taken away by defenses in the playoffs.
While the Packers may not have all the pieces in place for next season, if Rodgers comes back, they have a shot at winning the Super Bowl.
