Brett Favre may not be under center for the Green Bay Packers anymore, but he is still more than capable of chiming in with his thoughts on how things are going with his former team. Unfortunately, there are not many positive things to discuss when talking about the Packers heading into their Week 12 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
In a segment on his Sirius XM radio show, Favre touched on the topic of head coach Mike McCarthy. Rumors have been flying that the Packers will likely fire McCarthy at the end of the season, but Favre seemed to back McCarthy.
“I think Mike [McCarthy] is an excellent coach. They have to win and I think win a hurry or something may happen there. I mean, Aaron [Rodgers] has been playing outstanding and keeping them in games. Their defense is really, at times, looking really good, opportunistic, aggressive.”
Favre also talked about the Packers' play this season and said that he likes the way they are playing, but that they need to finish games and become more consistent.

Aaron Rodgers and company are currently 4-5-1 on the season heading into this week's game. If they are unable to knock off the Vikings on the road, their season will be over. There is no chance that the Packers could make the playoffs with a 9-6-1 record this season in a stacked NFC playoff race.
All of that being said, Favre seems to think that McCarthy deserves more respect than he is being given. He has helped lead the Packers to many successful seasons, but the frustration is mounting in Green Bay.
