Green Bay Packers quarterback DeShone Kizer's career has gotten off to a rough start, to say the least. Fortunately, he now finds himself in an environment where he can truly develop his skill set behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It is not unusual for player's of Rodgers' caliber to take it easy in this portion of organized team activities. However, according to Mike Spofford of the team's official website, Kizer says the star quarterback does not take any plays off:
It is encouraging to see that Kizer has already started to soak things in during his first practice sessions with the team. Needless to say, the environment in Green Bay is probably much different than what went on with the Cleveland Browns last year.
Cleveland expressed plenty of optimism in Kizer after taking him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Although he was pegged as a bit of a raw prospect, the Browns' unstable quarterback situation forced them to throw the rookie in without any suitable help from the offense. As a result, he threw for just 2,894 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions.
However, it appears Green Bay is still rather enamored with his skill set after trading for him this offseason. Kizer will now compete with quarterback Brett Hundley to become Rodgers' backup moving forward.
