Antonio Brown is a free agent following the Oakland Raiders' decision to release him on Saturday. After a ton of drama in Oakland, Brown will now be searching for his next team to play the 2019 season with. It may be difficult for him to find a team willing to take the risk, but there are a few that would make sense.
SportsLine revealed their favorites to end up signing Brown and the Green Bay Packers are high up on the list.
Now that Antonio Brown has been released by the Raiders, which team will he play his first game with in 2019?
Patriots: 2/1
49ers: 5/1
Packers: 6/1
Cardinals: 7/1
Seahawks: 9/1
Ravens: 12/1
Giants: 16/1
Dolphins: 18/1
Steelers 25/1 pic.twitter.com/J1Rnc5kwHo— SportsLine (@SportsLine) September 7, 2019
Green Bay being listed at No. 3 on the list will not be very popular within the fan base. Most fans are content with the weapons that the Packers currently have and do not want to bring in the drama that could very well follow the star wide receiver.
Brown is still one of the best wide receivers in the game, there is no question about that. He caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns last season with the Steelers. His production would look great in green and gold, but his character issues may not be welcome.
Aaron Rodgers isn't getting any younger and the Packers did have some level of interest in Brown this offseason before he was traded to the Raiders. Brian Gutekunst has made it clear that winning a Super Bowl is the team's top priority and signing Brown, assuming he stays out of trouble, would certainly help them towards that goal.
While it seems unlikely that the Packers will end up signing Brown, they are still a team to keep an eye on. Brown would give Rodgers an amazing duo of Davante Adams and Brown, with a lot of young talent behind them on the wide receiver depth chart.
Stay tuned, as we will have the latest information regarding Brown and his next move.
