The Green Bay Packers had an open roster spot after the team released Mike Daniels on Thursday and with that spot they signed running back Corey Grant, according to Universal Sports Management.

With Grant now on the team, the roster sits at a full 90 players. Grant went undrafted out of Auburn in 2015, but quickly latched on with the Jacksonville Jaguars and became a very nice player for them.
Before the 2018 season, the Jaguars played a second-round tender on Grant, but a Lisfranc injury in Week 5 cut his year short. Grant's best year was in 2017 when he was the Jaguars backup and rushed for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 41 yards. In his career, Grant has rushed for 454 yards and three touchdowns with a long of 58 yards.

Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, and Dexter Williams are the three running backs considered the favorites to make the roster, but with Grant on board, he is someone that can't be counted out. Grant has worked under Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett before, and he obviously liked him enough to at least give him another look this fall.
The Packers have solid running backs, but they don't have anyone with the speed that Grant has and that could give him a leg up when cutdown day comes and the Packers decide which players they want to keep on the roster.
