Green Bay Packers punter JK Scott was a surprisingly name on the team's injury report the other day when the 24-year-old product from Alabama was listed as questionable. In spite of the illness, Scott will be available on Sunday as the Packers prepare to battle with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

Scott averaged 44.0 yards per punt during the 2019 NFL season—his second professional one after the Packers selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 draft following four collegiate years with the Crimson Tide.

After Green Bay's first-round bye, Scott recorded four punts for 173 yards against the Seattle Seahawks in the hotly contested divisional round at home. The Packers squeaked by the always-dangerous Russell Wilson and Seahawks to earn a berth in the conference championship with a ticket to Super Bowl LIV on the line against the 49ers in the Bay Area on Sunday.

The Packers' special teams has been a solid bedrock for rookie head coach Matt LaFleur's 13-3 Green Bay team. Placekicker Mason Crosby, a thirteen-year NFL veteran, has never missed a game for the Pack, and he has only missed three combined kicks during the 2019 season (two field goals and one extra-point).

Together the duo has provided space for star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' offense to operate with cushion room.

While punters are often overlooked, in a game against the fearsome 49ers defense and star tight end George Kittle, JK Scott's kicking could be a razor-thin margin for Green Bay on championship Sunday.
