The tradition continues for the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions as they will play in their 23rd Thanksgiving Day game on Thursday at Ford Field—the most by any two teams in league history.
Packers defensive end Micah Parsons is no stranger to playing on Thanksgiving Day, even once touting that he has played well on the said day. But it will be his first time playing with the Packers on the holiday showcase, and he will have a crucial role in trying to stop the Lions.
While they still have a few days before the face-off, the 26-year-old Parsons has enough time to think about other things, apparently. To wit, he wants to hear a specific song at Lambeau Field.
“(Packers defensive coordinator) Jeff Hafley said Micah Parsons is open to the idea of Lambeau Field playing ‘Enter Sandman' when he comes on the field to close a game. Parsons doesn’t know anything about baseball, so Hafley educated him on Mariano Rivera,” reported The Athletic's Matt Schneidman on X.

To the unaware, Rivera, a legendary pitcher of the New York Yankees, used “Enter Sandman” as his entrance music whenever he took the mound in save situations. For the little ones, it is a hit song by the rock band Metallica.
Rivera spent his entire 19-year career with the Yankees, winning five World Series titles and a World Series MVP. He was also a 13-time All-Star and a three-time saves leader.
The entrance song worked well for the Hall of Famer, so it might be a good idea for Parsons and the Packers to do the same.
