The Green Bay Packers have committed to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the next six seasons after inking him to a record-breaking four-year, $134 million deal that will push him through his late 30s with the franchise.

With that in mind, head coach Mike McCarthy has voiced that he strongly believes Rodgers could play into his 40s at a high level at that point of his illustrious career, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Rodgers had previously voiced that he strongly desires to play into his 40s, which is something that he wants to channel similar success that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been able to show over the last couple of years. The 34-year-old has already drawn the long-term commitment from the Packers to reach that point, which may come down to him showing that he can continue to lead the team to success behind his arm at that stage of his career.

Although he is coming back from the second broken collarbone injury of his career, Rodgers has shown that he is one of the league's top quarterbacks when healthy. He appears to be passed any concerns with the ailment that should bode well to him putting together another highly productive campaign that could have him in the picture to contend for the NFL MVP award.

There has been no question that Rodgers has the mind frame along with the strict diet and passion for the game that could go a long way in helping him reach that goal of playing into his 40s. It will be on him to prove it on the field over the next several years of his career.
