David Johnson may not be the All-Pro that he once was during his second year with the Arizona Cardinals, but he was still a valuable asset whose stock looked to be on the uptick. This is why a good number of people–even the man himself–were shocked when he was traded to the Houston Texans.

Being on the wrong side of an explosive trade between the Cardinals and the Texans, it seems that Johnson's star is going to continuously decline. The Texans aren't exactly a place where much is expected as long as Bill O'Brien is in charge of the team. David Johnson made his feelings clear on his Twitter account.

Based on his word choice, there's little to no doubt that he's fuming at how the Cardinals disposed of him after previously committing to him for a big three-year contract.

One can assume that he's hurting from the way he was dispatched by the team after he tried turning his fortunes around. It's likely that he was assured by the front office then that they wouldn't trade him months before they pulled the trigger on this mega-trade. Either way, David Johnson doesn't seem all that happy.

However, it's not hard to blame the Cardinals from a football standpoint. He wasn't a great fit under Kliff Kingsbury's offense, and Kyler Murray wasn't able to bring out the best in him. He finished 2019 with only 342 rushing yards and two touchdowns to his name. Moreover, he lost his place in the team long ago when the Cardinals made a move for Miami's Kenyan Drake over the course of the season.

Expect David Johnson to come out of the gates swinging if he's still in the Houston roster by the start of the 2021 season. Until then, he has to prove his critics wrong on the field.
