The Houston Texans are taking a look at other punters and have brought in former second-team All-Pro, Marquette King in for a visit according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

King has been a fan favorite because of his flashy style of play, but he is a very good punter and still has the talent to be on an NFL roster.

King signed a five-year, $16.5 million extension in 2016 with the Raiders but was cut last year. He signed a three year $7 million deal with the Broncos after being cut but only played four games before being injured and put on injured reserve.

The Broncos reached an injury settlement with King, and he became a free agent again. King has been an excellent punter in his career averaging 46.7 yards per punt. Last year with the Broncos he was a bit down from his season average coming in at 44.1 yards in his four games.

Trevor Daniel beat out Shane Lechler for the Texans punting job last year and had an average of 43.7 yards per year. He punted it 74 times with his long being 61 yards.

It's unclear if the Texans are unhappy with Daniel or if they are looking for some preseason competition, but King would provide that. Daniel is under contract for the next two years with the Texans, but he has no guaranteed money left on his contract so cutting him would be cheap. This is a story that should be updated in the next day or so to see if King comes away with a contract.
