The Indianapolis Colts have quarterback Andrew Luck back on the field playing once again, which is obviously great news for them. However, there are still some question marks regarding Luck’s receivers besides T.Y. Hilton.

Big-name veteran receivers like Dez Bryant and Jeremy Maclin are still available in free agency to bolster that receiving corps noticeably lacking in proven playmakers.

But based on Colts GM Chris Ballard’s answer to the possibility of signing either Bryant or Maclin on Monday in an appearance on ProFootballTalk’s #PFTPM podcast, it doesn’t seem as if they are interested in either at this point in time.

“Good players, without question,” Ballard said per Andrew Walker of the team's official website. “Right now internally we’re just gonna continue to work with this young group we have, and continue to go down the preseason path.”

As things currently stand, the front-runner for the Colts’ No. 2 receiver job is Ryan Grant. The 27-year-old is coming off a career year in Washington where he had 45 catches for 573 yards and four touchdowns.  Grant has separated himself from the likes of Chester Rogers, James Wright, and Kasen Williams, who aren't exactly the stiffest competition.

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to surround Luck with more weapons to help ease the burden off his surgically-repaired shoulder. But perhaps the Colts don’t think either Bryant or Maclin is that good a fit for them. And in Bryant's case, it's doubtful if he even wants to go to Indianapolis.

Ballard could still change his mind if their young receivers struggle to produce once the regular season begins. The Colts will just have to hope that there are still any good receiving options left on the market by that time.
