The trade between the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts centered on quarterback Carson Wentz is done, with every major news outlet and even the NFL reporting about the deal on social media.

In fact, it seems as if the only ones who haven’t officially acknowledged the trade on Twitter are the Colts and Eagles themselves since the new year for the NFL starts in March.

The Colts, however, couldn’t help but offer a glimpse about how they feel about acquiring Wentz, with the team posting a picture of head coach Frank Reich smiling on their official Twitter account.

If that picture is any indication, it is clear that the Colts are happy to get Wentz, even if it meant giving up a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder. After all, the trade will reunite the 28-year-old with Reich, who was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator from 2016 to 2017, which included their run to the Super Bowl.

During that season, Wentz made the Pro Bowl and was an MVP candidate before going down with an ACL injury that forced him to miss the rest of the season. In 13 games, Wentz completed 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,296 yards, with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions, with the Eagles going 11-2 in those games.

The second overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, however, struggled in the 2020 season for Philadelphia and was eventually replaced by rookie Jalen Hurts. The Colts certainly hope that the reunion between Wentz and his former offensive coordinator in Reich will bring back his old MVP form.

The team took a gamble in trading for the quarterback after his struggles last season, but it looks like the Colts are confident that their head coach can once again bring out the best in him.
