Indianapolis Colts running back Spencer Ware will miss the entire 2019 season with an ankle surgery requiring surgery. He's on the physically unable to perform list; however, the seven-year NFL back is looking for an injury settlement with Indianapolis, per ESPN's Ian Rapoport, which would give him the opportunity to sign elsewhere in the league and play for a team after his 5-6 week recovery.

Ware, 27, previously played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2013 and the Kansas City Chiefs for four seasons before signing with the Colts in April 2019. The former sixth-round pick by the Seahawks took to Twitter to mass-express his feelings on his injury, calling it a “minor” setback.

“I am NOT done for season!,” Ware tweeted, emphasis his. “When things happen you have to adjust and treat accordingly. I'm going to play THIS YEAR, so there are things that need to be done before that happens that'll put me in the best case scenario. MINOR, MINOR, MINOR setback because of timing.”

Ware appeared in 13 regular-season games for the Chiefs last year, rushing for 246 yards and receiving 224 yards, while scoring two total rushing touchdowns and averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
Indianapolis' running-back corps is rounded out by Nyheim Hines, Marlon Mack, Jonathan Williams, and Jordan Wilkins. Hines is the Colts' fourth-round pick from the 2018 draft, rushing for 314 yards in his rookie year. The Colts took Mack in the fourth round in 2017; he's rushed for 1,266 yards in his first two seasons. Williams signed with the Colts in 2018 after time with the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, and New Orleans Saints. Wilkins, meanwhile was last year's fifth-round selection who ran for 336 yards in 16 games for the Colts in 2018.
