The season-opener for the Indianapolis Colts is right around the corner with Chuck Pagano's squad set to do battle on the road against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. Andrew Luck, however, may not be under center for Indianapolis.
According to ESPN's Mike Wells, the Colts still don't know when Luck will be ready.
The Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 game at the Los Angeles Rams is only 13 days away, and they still say there's “no timetable” for when quarterback Andrew Luck will return.
Pagano spoke about Luck's status and was reluctant to give any odds on when his superstar quarterback may return to the field for the Colts, via Wells.
“I'm not a bookie. I'm not an oddsmaker,” Pagano said. “So I'm not allowed to put numbers on things like that.”
Back in January, Luck underwent surgery on his right arm. Almost nine months later, the three-time Pro Bowler still hasn't practiced nor has a definitive date been set for his return to the gridiron with less than two weeks to go before the season gets started for Indianapolis.
Obviously, not having Luck under center running the offense is a costly blow for the Colts. Backup Scott Tolzien will likely serve as the starting quarterback if Luck is indeed ruled out as it appears he will be if nothing changes.
If Luck's shoulder recovery remains an issue, it could be another long season for the Colts and perhaps the last for Pagano in Indianapolis.
