Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Andrew Norwell suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills and unfortunately, it's a fairly severe injury.

It looks like the injury will indeed be a multi-week injury and it sounds like Norwell won't be back in action until at least Week 15 against the Washington Redskins. The Jaguars might be doing their prized lineman a favor by holding him out for the rest of the season since the Jags are comfortably in the last place in the AFC South. Back in March, Norwell signed a huge five-year contract worth $66.5 million in which $30 million is guaranteed. At the time of the signing, this made Norwell the highest paid guard in the league. Norwell came over from the Carolina Panthers after playing with them for four seasons from 2014-17. The Jags obviously love what they saw from Norwell in his time with the Panthers protecting Cam Newton and paid the fifth-year lineman for his talents.

Unfortunately for the Jaguars, they will need all of the help they can get on the offensive line with the recent benching of quarterback Blake Bortles in favor of Cody Kessler. The other knock against the Jaguars offense is the recent firing of Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

The Jaguars have now lost seven games in a row and they are a season removed from making the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. The team is drastically different from last season and problems are on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, the offense has looked absolutely underwhelming since their wins against the Patriots and New York Jets earlier this season.
