It seems that trade talks for Yannick Ngakoue is getting a bit more complicated than it initially was. After earlier reports stated that the Jacksonville Jaguars were close to moving their defensive end, it now seems that there has not been any specific team who are nearing a trade for the former Pro Bowler.

As reported by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Jaguars would want more than just a second round pick for the 25-year-old.

“As of now, there are no signs that anything is imminent with Ngakoue,” Pelissero reported. “And based on conversations I've had with teams that have spoken to the Jaguars, it would be shocking that they're willing to move Ngakoue for only a second round pick. The price is higher. It would have to be something like a second round pick and change.

After four seasons in Jacksonville, Ngakoue publicly stated that he wants to be traded and that he would no longer play for the Jaguars this coming season.

Despite the controversial trade request, the Jaguars decided to put Ngakoue under their franchise tag for the 2020 NFL campaign, which the DE refused to sign. Ngakoue has been in an on-and-off argument about his tenure in Jacksonville over the past few months, but there is still nothing concrete in terms of his move as the season approaches.

If the Jaguars choose to move Yannick Ngakoue, it would be wise of them to ask for more than a second-rounder since the young Maryland alum has shown potential of being a star. Though he has yet to replicate his impressive Pro Bowl season in 2017 (when he tallied 12 sacks in 16 games for the Jaguars), he still had an impressive 2019 campaign.

Ngakoue recorded a career-high 41 combined tackles last season, which was huge for Jacksonville's defense.
