The Jacksonville Jaguars have decided to bring back defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson, according to Phillip Heilman of The Florida Times-Union.
The Jaguars waived Johnson last month to make room for wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, but with a roster spot available just before the start of training camp, Jacksonville elected to re-sign him.
Johnson spent just about all of the 2018 campaign on the Jaguars' practice squad, but he was activated in December and ended up playing in three games, registering two tackles.
The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Cincinnati, went undrafted but eventually landed in Jacksonville.
Johnson spent three seasons at Cincinnati and had a very quiet NCAA career, totaling 17 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off of a very disappointing 2018 campaign in which they won just five games, one year after winning 10 games, capturing the AFC South division title and making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game.
An absolutely disastrous offense doomed Jacksonville, so much so that it ended up demoting Blake Bortles in favor of Cody Kessler under center before then going back to Bortles after Kessler performed poorly.
To try and rectify their quarterback situation this offseason, the Jags signed former Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Nick Foles, who, outside of a magical Super Bowl run during the 2017-18 campaign, doesn't have an extensive track record in the NFL.
And it's not like quarterback was the Jaguars' only issue this past year, as they had holes up and down the offensive side of the ball.
