The Jacksonville Jaguars are still looking for a backup running back, and they seem to be zeroing in on some potential targets.
According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, the Jaguars will be visiting with Alfred Blue on Monday, and Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has reported that Benny Cunningham has scheduled a visit with the club.
Blue spent the 2018 campaign with the Houston Texans, rushing for 499 yards and three touchdowns while averaging a meager 3.3 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 20 receptions for 154 yards.
The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Texans in the sixth round (181st pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He has been a second-string running back for Houston ever since, with his most productive season coming in 2015 when he totaled 698 yards and a couple of scores on the ground, recording 3.8 yards per attempt. He also caught 15 passes for 109 yards while reaching the end zone once.
Cunningham spent his 2018 season with the Chicago Bears and saw limited action, finishing with just 20 yards on 11 carries.
Article Continues BelowThe 28-year-old attended Middle Tennessee State University and went undrafted, but eventually landed with the St. Louis Rams in 2013.
He ended up rushing for 261 yards and a touchdown during his rookie year, posting 5.2 yards per carry. Cunningham would proceed to spend the first four years of his career with the Rams but showed a decline in production each season.
The Nashville, Tn. native then joined the Bears in 2017.
This past year, the Jaguars had T.J. Yeldon and Carlos Hyde backing up Leonard Fournette.
