Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey continues to speak out on the reasoning behind his recent trade request.

Ramsey has made it clear multiple times that he's interested in playing for another team, and things escalated following Jacksonville's Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans.

That led to Ramsey once again reiterating his request for a trade, with rumors suggesting that he could be dealt elsewhere following the team's Thursday night matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Here's what Ramsey had to say about his current situation on the Uninterrupted podcast with Nate Burleson, courtesy of Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

“Some disrespectful things were said on their end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out,” Ramsey told Burleson. “I said, ‘It’s time. My time is up here in Jacksonville.’ I said, ‘I want to ask for a trade.’ I was truly at peace, like I wasn’t in a mindset of making a decision while I was angry. I was completely calm. I still stand by that decision to ask for a trade.”

Ramsey has been outspoken about wanting to play for a winning team, but it seems that the disrespectful words from people within the franchise ultimately pushed him to demand a trade.

The Jaguars have struggled to get back on track after making the AFC Championship game in 2018, and trading their most important defensive player may not make the journey back to contender status all that easy.
