Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette is expected to play Sunday against the New York Jets, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Fournette has missed the past two weeks due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1. He was a full participant in practice on Friday, and despite his questionable status on the injury report, it was a good indication that he’s finally ready to return.

Another strong indication of Fournette’s return was his tweet Saturday about being “happy to be back,” which he quickly deleted.

The Jaguars went 1-1 in the two games Fournette missed due to injury. They recorded an impressive 31-20 win over the Patriots in Week 2. However, their offense struggled in a 9-6 defeat at home against the Tennessee Titans last week.

After torching the Patriots for 376 yards and four touchdowns, Blake Bortles was limited to just 155 yards by the Titans defense. TJ Yeldon, who started once again in place of Fournette, was the team’s top offensive weapon. He had six catches for 46 yards to go with 44 rushing yards in seven carries.

Fournette will look to capitalize on a Jets run defense which has struggled over the last two weeks. After giving up 135 yards in a 20-12 loss to the Dolphins, they surrendered 133 yards and two touchdowns in their Thursday night loss to the Browns.

Fournette had an impressive game in last year’s meeting with the Jets. He rushed for 86 yards and added 59 yards on four receptions with a touchdown. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the Jaguars fell in overtime, 23-20.
