Now that Nick Foles has declared his intent to void his contract with the Eagles, rumors are swirling that the Jaguars may be interested in him.

According to The Atlantic, the Jaguars are one of a few teams legitimately searching for a 2019 starting quarterback, and as such, they will be making some sort of play for Foles, either via trade or free agency.

But just because the Jaguars may want to make a play for the soon-to-be former Eagles quarterback, doesn't mean that they will actually succeed in doing so.

24/7 Sports explains it further.

“The Jaguars interest in Nick Foles makes plenty of sense considering John DeFilippo is their offensive coordinator. DeFilippo will call the plays in Jacksonville, which already plays into the team's hands of attempting to sign or trade for Foles. Not to mention Foles has a relationship with DeFilippo during his one year as the Eagles' quarterbacks coach. DeFilippo took Foles to unprecedented heights in 2017, culminating with Foles winning Super Bowl MVP honors before he departed to the Minnesota Vikings for an opportunity to call plays as their offensive coordinator.”

As we'd previously reported, Nick Foles was expected to void out his contract with the Philadelphia Eagles to enter into free agency, just one day after the Eagles had announced that they were looking to exercise his option in 2019. Voiding out the contract cost the quarterback and former MVP a cool $2 million, so let's hope this all plays out in his favor, the way he wants it to.
