The Kansas City Chiefs kept rolling with their emphatic victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. They were in control from the get-go on both offense and defense.

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City are finding their groove and becoming a formidable contender once again. While the Chiefs aren't the favorites as they have been in previous seasons, they are hitting their stride and getting hot right before the playoffs.

It was a 48-9 win that looked similar to the way they have played over the past few years. That being said, here are three takeaways from the Chiefs' Week 14 win over the Raiders.

Kansas City Chiefs Week 14 Takeaways vs. Las Vegas Raiders

3. Patrick Mahomes is in the MVP race

Although Patrick Mahomes had a slow start to the season, he has put himself right back in the MVP race. The offense has picked up during the last stretch along with limited turnovers. Turnovers were a huge issue for Mahomes and the offense at the start of the season.

Against the Raiders, Mahomes threw for 258 yards along with two touchdowns and zero interception. He was also an efficient passer as he completed 20 of his 24 passes. This solid performance spearheaded the offense to one of, if not the best performance of the year for the Chiefs.

This season, Mahomes has thrown for 3,642 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The interceptions are still high, but the numbers are solid. A great finish to the season could lead to his second MVP award.

2. The electric offense is back

Kansas City's offense has been prolific since Mahomes became the starter. However, they had a disappointing start to the campaign, leading many to count them out of Super Bowl contention. Their electric offense showed up against Las Vegas, which was vital in the win.

The rushing attack was key as they had 30 carries for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Tyreek Hill also had a solid game with four receptions for 76 yards.

Teams have been trying to scheme Hill and Travis Kelce out of the game and force Mahomes to throw to different targets. This has been successful and has also forced him to check it down frequently. Mahomes has adjusted though, which showed in their dominant offensive output against the Raiders.

1. Chiefs will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl

Despite their slow start, the Chiefs are rolling and ready to make another deep playoff run. They have made it to the Super Bowl in the previous two seasons and an AFC Championship appearance the year prior. Mahomes is a proven winner, and the team's playoff success should guide them back.

This was shown in their win over the Raiders as they have been a competitive team throughout the year but stood no chance against Kansas City. The defense was phenomenal as they had four sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown. Production like this will go a long way in a deep postseason run.

While it hasn't been an easy journey, Mahomes has led them back to the top of the AFC West. Andy Reid has adapted the offensive scheme as well, and they now have a shot at the one seed in the AFC. The New England Patriots are currently in first but have the same record as the Tennessee Titans and Chiefs.

With the Chiefs on fire and the Titans sliding, it will likely come down to them and the Patriots. Getting the top seed would help Kansas City a ton as they would get a bye in the first round.
