The Oakland Raiders were able to secure yet another clutch win, beating the Los Angeles Chargers, 26-24, on a short week. It appears quarterback Derek Carr is starting to feel something special building at this point in the 2019 NFL season.
The Raiders have enjoyed a bit of a resurgence since their abysmal 2018 campaign. Carr could not help but be grateful for how far they have come in such a short time, via Vern Glenn of KPIX:
” I love this team, I love this organization so much…these fans have stuck behind me the whole way.”
Carr added that it is nice to be back in the playoff hunt.

Carr's comments are certainly understandable considering the struggles he had endured with this team last year. They now find themselves in the driver's seat heading into the second half of the year with a 5-4 record.
Although Carr's numbers were not eye-popping, he still did what he could to help the Raiders' offense put some points on the board by completing 21-of-31 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, he managed to take care of the ball, which ultimately proved to be the deciding factor in this one.
Oakland now has some favorable matchups with their next two games coming against the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets. This will provide them ample time to keep their resurgence going before they face their real test in Week 13 with a crucial matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
