The Oakland Raiders had a bitter split with the city they've called home for most of their history as a franchise as they lost their final game. However, Derek Carr still feels thankful for the support Raiders fans have shown the team over the years.

The quarterback grew as a player and a man in the city, so he has nothing but love and respect for the fans who adopted him as their own ever since he came into the league in 2014.

“I just wanted to say thanks,” Carr said, via NBC Sports. “Whenever I'm done playing football, they can get mad at somebody else someday that's the quarterback, you know what I mean? There have been too many good times, too many fun memories I've had with especially those certain people, where it's our last time there.

“It's such a cool moment, to say ‘Thank you,' to some of those guys, familiar faces. Memories of throwing a ball and breaking Gorilla Rilla’s chain and signing it the next week. So many memories with all those people, so I had told them I was going to say hi to them after the game no matter what.”

However, his thanks cannot deny that they lost a truly horrible game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They held a 13-point lead at the end of the first half, but they failed to connect offensively in the second. Meanwhile, Gardner Minshew pulled off an incredible last-minute play to win the game for the visitors of the Raiders' last home game in the Golden State.

After wrapping up this season, the Raiders will be packing their bags to move to Las Vegas, where big money and a brand-new stadium await them.
