Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden still seems to be salty about a game that took place over 16 years ago, and he's back in the league to get revenge on Tom Brady.

It was Jan. 19, 2002 when the infamous Tuck Rule Game took place in which the New England Patriots beat the Raiders 16-13 in overtime. Gruden talked to Bleacher Report's Dan Pompei about the famous game that changed NFL history forever:

“He ran me out of Oakland in the Tuck Game. Damn. He brought those bastards back in a two-minute drill to beat us in a driving snow. They didn't do anything the whole night until the game was on the line. And here I am 20 years later, and guess who's still there. That's why I'm back.”

Oakland lost that game and the team traded Gruden to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers only a short time later. The Buccaneers beat the Raiders in the Super Bowl the next year, so Gruden got his revenge on the Raiders for trading him. It's clear that Gruden still holds a grudge against the Patriots and Brady for their victory in that controversial game, and maybe it truly is a big reason why Gruden did decide to come back.

If Gruden wants to exact that revenge, the Raiders are going to have to make the playoffs and then get a showdown with the Patriots as the two teams won't meet during the regular season this year.

The Raiders will kick off their regular season on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.
