Things just keep going from bad to worse for the Las Vegas Raiders. After releasing both Damon Arnette and Henry Ruggs in the same week due to off-field issues, the Raiders suffered a humbling loss at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. To make matters worse, the team lost one of its best players in the defeat.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Raiders fullback Alec Ingold suffered a torn ACL on Sunday. Ingold will miss the remainder of the season. Fortunately, the report indicates the 25-year-old avoided any ligament damage and will be ready to go by the start of the 2022 season. The incident occurred on a special teams play during the first quarter when Ingold was covering a punt and twisted his knee. He had to be carted off the field and did not return to the game.

Ingold, a team captain plays a big role on Las Vegas' special teams unit and also serves as the lone fullback on the roster. His absence will impact the entire offense, and certainly make Derek Carr's life a bit more difficult, having to play without one of his key pass protectors. He joined the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2019 out of Wisconsin and has since scored one touchdown across 41 career games.

The injury could not come at a worse time for the Raiders. Former head coach Jon Gruden resigned just a couple of weeks ago, in addition to the team cutting ties with Ruggs and Arnette in early November. Additionally, the team has lost back-to-back games, falling to 5-4 on the year, and will now be without one of their leaders to help navigate them through the rest of the year.
