The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly interested in signing defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.
Robinsons reported that there are three teams currently trying to sign Clowney before the season starts, and one of those teams is Raiders. Here's what he wrote:

Ditto for the Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders. There is even some question about the depth of interest within the Raiders, as one source familiar with the organization said there is a “varied” appetite for the Clowney pursuit, depending on whether you’re speaking to head coach Jon Gruden or general manager Mike Mayock. The source said Mayock appears to be squarely in the same “price point” camp as the Titans and Seahawks.”
At the beginning of the NFL free agency period, Clowney was demanding a multi-year deal around $20 million per year. However, after five months, Clowney still hasn't been able to agree to a deal. According to Spotrac, the Raiders currently have $5.214 million in cap space.
This past season Clowney's stats weren't exactly eye-popping, but his presence was still felt on the defensive side. The Pro Bowler recorded three sacks and 16 quarterback hits in 13 games.
Nevertheless, Clowney is still arguably one of the best defensive ends in the league. If the Raiders are able to sign him, they'll for sure have one of the best defenses in the league,
The Raiders are scheduled to play their first regular season game against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 13.
