There has been a lot of debate if the NFL should allow Oakland Raiders wide receiver to wear his old helmet and Stephen A. Smith has a very clear answer, “Hell no!”

Smith on First Take said what Brown is doing is “nonsensical” and he thinks that the NFL should call Brown's bluff and let him retire if he doesn't want to play over the helmet.

Brown has worn the same Schutt Air Advantage helmet for 12 years, but with the NFL helmet's policy, he isn't allowed to wear it this year. He has told the Raiders and the league that he will retire from the game if he isn't allowed to continue to wear it.

According to Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic, Brown also told the league that if he were injured wearing a different helmet, he would hold the league responsible.

“And I think it’ll be interesting if the NFL forces Antonio to wear a different helmet,” the source said. “And he does play and he doesn’t retire as some people have reported he will do. And then he suffers a really severe injury. I’d hate to be the NFL. Because now you’ve forced him into wearing a different type of helmet. And I think at that point, though, the liability will be dramatic.”

The NFL is expected to rule this week on what they will do with Brown, but Kaplan's source does make an interesting point. If Brown is worried about getting injured with the new helmet and has expressed that to the NFL, what happens if he does.
