Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday, putting his status for Week 14 in jeopardy.
While the Chargers have seemed optimistic that Gordon could return to the field for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, missing another practice seems to point towards the star running back being held out for another week.
Gordon suffered a sprained MCL in the Week 12 clash against the Arizona Cardinals, and he did not play in last Sunday's 33-30 come-from-behind win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Things have been going extremely well for Gordon and the Chargers offense this season, as he's racked up 153 carries for 802 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 44 receptions for 453 yards and four scores on the year.
Article Continues BelowIn his absence, the Chargers have turned to running backs Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson, who both figure to play a big role on Sunday if Gordon is indeed sidelined once again.
Of course, the biggest possible reason for Anthony Lynn choosing to sit Gordon for another week is due to the matchup. The Bengals are struggling right now after season-ending injuries to Andy Dalton and A.J. Green, and they shouldn't present much of a challenge in this week's game.
That may give the Chargers a chance to rest Gordon and get him completely healthy for the playoff run, which is certainly the team's top priority after such a successful regular season.
Los Angeles will head to Kansas City for a showdown with the AFC-leading Chiefs in Week 15.
