Jalen Guyton shined big in Keenan Allen's absence
With star receiver Keenan Allen out due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, LA needed help downfield and they got it in the form of Jalen Guyton who stepped up in a major way and came through for his team with some big catches when they needed it the most. With 87 yards receiving and a touchdown on just 3 receptions, Guyton was huge for the Chargers in Week 14.
Guyton was a huge part of their offensive outburst on Sunday and helped them light up the scoreboard this past weekend. As they continue to showcase their depth on offense, it's safe to say that Guyton will be a huge part of their game plan moving forward. So be on the lookout for another stellar showing from Guyton in the coming weeks.
Kyzir White set the tone for LA on defense
With an elite defensive showing from the Chargers in Week 14, they had it all going and completely shut down the Giants offense on all fronts. Leading the way for them was Kyzir White who had a strong game and led the team in tackles and led by example as the Chargers D brought the heat all game long and never let up in the slightest. Now that they've got their sights set on a surprise playoff run, their play on the defensive end will be vital and they'll need more performances like this from White in the weeks ahead.
Looking ahead to their primetime match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, White and the rest of LA's defense will need to be on top of their game and ready for the firepower that Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce are about to bring their way. All this aside, White's play was phenomenal for the Chargers and he'll only get better with each game he plays.
