Fresh off a thrilling win at Super Bowl 56 and looking to reclaim the crown in 2022, the Los Angeles Rams still have some work to do. Although the addition of Allen Robinson II will prove to be a great signing, the Rams still have some major areas to address during the offseason.
Especially after losing key defensive players Von Miller and Darious Williams in free agency. With a few positions that still need to be filled and the Rams gunning for back-to-back Super Bowl wins, LA still has some roster overhaul to cater to. Let's now discuss two moves the Rams must make to complete their roster ahead of next season.
Key moves the Rams need to make to complete their 2022 roster
Bring in Bobby Wagner as Von Miller's replacement
Von Miller leaving the team to sign a 6-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills has now left a massive void at linebacker for the Rams. With Bobby Wagner's recent release from the Seattle Seahawks, this is a golden opportunity for Los Angeles to add an elite playmaker on defense. In LA, Wagner would form a killer pass rush with Aaron Donald and elevate the Rams defensive front. Considering that Wagner has already met with the Rams, this signing could become a very realistic possibility for them.
Add to that the bad blood that's developed between Wagner and the Seahawks, and this is signing is a match made in heaven. There's no doubt that getting to play against his former squad twice a year would be very enticing for Wagner. On the other hand, he'd be playing for a Rams team that's gotten the best of Seattle in recent outings. If the Rams want to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 2023, this is one move that could improve their chances of achieving this.

Sign Tyrann Mathieu to bolster their secondary
As an All-Pro safety that's had a couple of productive seasons playing with the Kansas City Chiefs, Tyrann Mathieu would be a great fit in the Rams secondary. With Darious Williams no longer in the picture, Mathieu would be an ideal replacement and help the Rams form a killer pass defense with Jalen Ramsey and Taylor Rapp. Whether they'd be playing in zone or man coverages, Mathieu would become a vital part of their defensive game plan.
Plus with his playoff experience and championship hardware, Mathieu would be another clutch performer that would give the Rams a much-needed boost on defense. As a known quantity and proven winner, the Rams would benefit greatly from the addition of Mathieu. His ball skills, in-game awareness, and veteran leadership would be an added bonus for the reigning Super Bowl champs. If they want to keep pace in this pass-heavy league, then signing Mathieu is something that the Rams should strongly consider to complete their roster.
All-in-all, the Rams are still in prime position to make a playoff run next season. However, they still have some roster spots to fill out in order to have a more balanced attack. These two superstar veterans would help out their defense immensely and keep them in title contention during the 2022-23 NFL campaign. Given that 2022 NFL free agency is still in full swing, taking a chance on two Pro Bowl talents in Bobby Wagner and Tyrann Mathieu would greatly increase their chances of a championship repeat in 2023.
