The Los Angeles Rams officially activated cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Sunday, which head coach Sean McVay is much pleased to see.

Ramsey missed the Rams’ Monday Night Football encounter with the Arizona Cardinals last week after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. In his place, third-year cornerback David Long earned a starting nod for Los Angeles, as he featured in all 100 percent of the team's snaps on defense and allowed a 42.4 passer rating while in coverage as the nearest defender.

FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager noted on Saturday that Ramsey had tested negative, which cleared him to return to the team. And on Sunday, the team made it all official, paving the way for the veteran cornerback to take part in the upcoming Week 15 home clash with the Seattle Seahawks.

As he noted during a press conference on Sunday, McVay is glad to see that Ramsey will be available for this crucial NFC West showdown.

“I was ecstatic when I got the call that he was cleared,” McVay said.

The Rams had a notable outbreak of COVID-19 cases over the past week, which forced the NFL to postpone their home matchup with the Seahawks to Tuesday. Several such players are still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but at the least, the likes of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Darrell Henderson Jr. each were placed on the active roster ahead of the game and are slated to be ready to go come Tuesday.

Due to the Arizona Cardinals' road loss to the Detroit  Lions in Week 15, the Rams could inch closer to soon holding sole possession of first place in the NFC West with a win over the Seahawks.
