Now-former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady believes that Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp orchestrated one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in NFL history.

Brady recently took some time to speak on his weekly “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” podcast to review Super Bowl 56, where he lauded Kupp for not only his stout performance in the game but also his overall campaign.

“He’s put together one of the greatest seasons a receiver has ever had,” Brady said.

Brady sure had a front-row seat to watch Kupp’s prowess as an all-around receiver in the 2021 season. The fifth-year receiver combined for 279 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in the pair of wins over the Buccaneers this past season, which included the crucial catch in the late stages of the NFC divisional round contest that set up the game-winning field goal by kicker Matt Gay.

Overall, Kupp came away from the season with multiple individual honors, including the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Many see that Kupp deserved to have won the 2021 NFL MVP award as well, which Brady views that the versatile wideout had a strong case for it.

“That’s a tough award,” Brady said. “I know it’s so hard to give it to one guy. There’s a lot of great players. And Cooper is just as deserving as Aaron.”

From the receiving triple crown to the Super Bowl 56 MVP win, Kupp sure had one of the more prolific campaigns by a wideout in league history.
