To say that the Los Angeles Rams improved in the 2017 NFL season would be a massive understatement. Not only did they capture their first playoff berth in over a decade but the offense made the jump from being worst to first.
At the forefront of their success was the emergence of quarterback Jared Goff. Following an impressive sophomore campaign, head coach Sean McVay is helping Goff become an extension of the coaching staff, according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry:
It goes without saying that the Rams made a bold move when they traded up to take Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. It was a selection that received scathing criticism amidst his tumultuous rookie year under the regime of former head coach Jeff Fisher.
Fortunately, he enjoyed quite the resurgence under the tutelage of McVay after throwing for 3,804 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. Now it is clear that the two are looking to kick things up a notch this offseason.
Los Angeles has made it no secret that they intend on competing for a Super Bowl this year. Needless to say, Goff and the Rams offense will no longer be sneaking up on any teams moving forward.
